Default GP ARF Cub wing plate

I need some ideas on how I can avoid using the ugly wing plate GP wants you to use where it bolts to the fuse.

is this wig plate absolutely necessary?

What other ways could I reinforce the wing where it bolts to the fuse without using the plate?

Only if you want the wing to stay on.

You'll never see it at 500ft

If it REALLY bugs you, you could replace it with two Fender Washers, but then you'll have to paint them yellow.

Just seemed huge to me, but you are right. I won't see it.
