Default Sepktrum buddy box set up

I would like to do the following:
Use my Spektrum DX6i as a teacher transmitter
Use my Spektrum DX6 as a student transmitter

I know I have to purchase a special cable to hook up the two transmitters.
However, I don't know how to set the slave (DX6) transmitter.

Several questions come to mind, such as:

Must the DX6 transmitter also be bound to the aircraft's receiver?
Does plane need to be trimmed again when control switches to the DX6?
Does everything have to be set up the same as on the DX6i?
That is, HI/LO rate throws?, set up any reverse controls? etc., etc.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have wondered about this too. Since I have several older JR tx's, can one of these be use as a buddy box?

Not sure about the binding, but yes to all your other questions...you need to make sure all your trims and throws are set-up the same as the master Tx.

The DX6 is DSM1 vs. the DSMII of the DX6i and other newer radios...I don't know for sure if that matters? Typically, with a JR buddy box set-up, you don't even turn on the slave Tx. so...
Try asking your ? in the JR support forum...should find somebody there who will know.
