Hi All,

I am getting back into flying after a several years. Seems flying is and buliding airplanes is something I've always enjoyed. Well the problem is am haveing am hard time finding supplies. I guess with all the ARF on the market, not many folks are building planes much less painting huh. I still like to cover and paint "dope" my airplanes. They last for years that way. I have several that are 20+ years old and still look good. Well does aany one know where a guy can buy dope these days? quarts not 4 oz anf gallons of thinner.
I live in central Texas.
Oh, and one more question, how does one get any bragging rights if ya have an ARF?? Say hay guys look what I bought?

your local hobby shop should be able to get it for you,  I think SIG carries it but you might have to get it in quarts due to the shipping of hazardous materials

Well, I don't know where to score dope in Austin, but around here there's a guy down by the park.

For small amounts, Brodak - especially colored dope

For larger amounts (quarts, gallons, or 5 gallons cans), Aircraft Spruce or Wicks

You can visit /order all online.

From all three you are getting Randolph's Dope which is the best you can buy.

Go online to Aircraft Spruce & Specialty, you will be able to get Stits Poly Dope in qts, and gallons. The price will be much better than getting it from any hobby shop.

Just watch out for the Haz Met fees on transporting gallon size cans of dope.  It can be cheaper to buy 4 quarts.

I get all my dope on the north side of the Vegas strip!! Well, it's the truth!! I have three hobby shops all within a mile or so from each other on the north end of town and they all carry dope! One that stocks it is Hobby Town and the other is Hobby People. I'm sure if I hang around outside on the street in front of my other LHS I can score any kinda dope I'm looking for!!!
