Default Replacement for OS .40LA

Guys;

I acquired a plane with an OS.40LA engine installed. The power is pretty anemic, particularly when taking off. I'd like to replace the engine with an OS.46FX I have; or perhaps an OS .55AX, which I also have on hand. Before I get started, does any one know if the engine mounting bolt holes will line up without modification? If not, I'll have to order a replacement engine mount; so I'd like to know before I start tearing things apart. Thanks;Ernie P.

It would be doubt full that the mounting holes are going to be the same. Depending on the plane and if you have a cowling or not, you may be able to use the same mount by just moving the new engine forward on the mount and redrill the holes.  Good Luck, Dave

Ernie,
I believe the mounting holes are the same.
OS has their manuals online - go look at them.
Or, pull the LA and place the FX in and see if they line up.
Good Luck,

I stand corrected. According to the chart they do have the same size mounting pattern so you should just have to swap out the engines. Thanks for that chart, it is going to be a useful tool, Dave

There we go!Exactly what I needed. Funny, I hadn't seen that on the OSwebsite; but it answered the question. Many thanks; Ernie P.
