Hayes Tanks
Just finished a plane and went to break in a new motor, starting by filling the tanks. I am using the third nipple (on top) as a filler and when I started pumping, with an electric pump, fuel started spraying up the pressure line attached to the muffler. The pressure line is attached to the middle nipple. By the time the tank was full (8oz.) the muffler had expelled a good 2-3oz of fuel. I have been using this pump for several years and it takes 10 sec to fill an 8oz tank. Anyone know why fuel should bubble up the pressure line from the very start of the filling process? Should I switch the fill and pressure lines?
