What filler for ABS plastic??
I have what appears to be a mouse who has put teethmarks in the turtle deck of my Giant Stinger kit-yeah, the cheap ABS junk Lanier used. Anyway, what is the best filler to fill in this area (which is only about 1/2" square). I saw Walmart had some spot putty in the auto section but I am not sure-I may just elect to build up the turtle deck with balsa anyway as I know it would be superior to the plastic. I wouldn't think regular wood filler would work on plastic??
BTW, if I use this stock piece, it will be painted so I don't want the texture of the filler standing out.

As long as there is no flex in the plastic most airdry or two pack spot putties should stay put.If you are worried about adhesion there are plenty of plastic adhesion promoters around, quick and easy to use.Have you done anything about the mouse to prevent a recurrence? my suggestion is to trap it.After he's dried out you can use him for a pilot figure in the plane yes?

the best way to fill ABS is to take some scraps of the same material you are filling... get some Testor's model cement..... cut the scraps into VERY tiny pieces and mix it with the cement.... make a paste out of it... then smooth it onto the surface.... if you want a really smooth area.. then use a little more cement on something flat and smooth and level it out with that.... when it dries.. it's sandable and paintable.

Hah, no, what appears to be the mouse, must have done his damage back @ Lanier headquarters. As mentioned, it is a very tiny spot anyway but it def. needs something done if it is going to be used. I am leaning more toward building the turtle deck out of balsa anyway-or cutting it out of white foam and sheeting it like the wings are. Thanks for the replys.
