Fuel Tank Question
Couple of questions about gasoline engines aaaaaand fuel tanks..
I am considering building a twin airplane but nacelles are too small to accomodate fuel tanks..I would have to install fuel tanks at the fuselaje center
I would like to know how far can fuel tanks be installed without affecting engine performance, I am talking about Gasoline engines..
Thanks

RE: Fuel Tank Question
If in doubt you can use a Perry pump for gasoline:

Should work really well on an engine with a diaphragm in the carb (like Walbro, etc.)

RE: Fuel Tank Question
Gas engines often have carbs that draw fuel, but they're not always very good at it.
You can easily test one of your engines to see how they'll do. Get a tach reading at WOT and then insert a length of fuel tubing equal to what will be needed in your twin. If there is any drop in rpm with the new length, any drop at all, you should consider using a pump to deliver the fuel. Just one can do the job for both usually.
