Default fuel tank position

Hi Guys, Ive just finished building a 4 star 40 and was unable to position the fuel tank so that the centre line of the tank was in line with the needle valve, as stated in the instructions. The centre line of the tank is about 3/4 ins below the needle valve. In order to line up the tank, the engine, which is O.S 52, would have had to be so low , it just wouldnt look right. The question is , will the engine run o.k. with the tank in that position. Thanks in advance to all replies. Bill.

Probably, you just try it and see. Better a bit low then high but some engines don't seem to care.

I had the same problem with a build I just finished. I inverted the engine and it was then easier to match the tank/carb level. As I recall, it really would be no problem inverting the engine on a 4*.

It's not a problem inverting the engine but this was one of my young students that managed to talk his mother into the Saito 100 GK and he wanted the world to know he had the Golden Knight. If it's inverted you can't see it near as well!!!!! This is the 4*60 kit I spent the summer teaching him how to build with. After that he went ARF!!! The tank was low on this one too but it had no effect on the engine at all.
