Default E-flite power 25 pulsating

I have a eflite power 25 motor connected to the eflite 40 amp esc. The battery is brand new 11.1v 3cell 4000mah lipo. When i run the motor past mid throttle the motor starts to pulsate and sputter like it is not getting power? Anyone know what this may be cause from?

Could be a timing issue, do you have the instructions for the ESC? It should tell you how to change the timing settings. For a larger outrunner, usually medium or high timing works best.
Also, check your battery and make sure it's fully charged. You could also be hitting low voltage cutoff if it's not charged.

That ESC is programmable. You need to look through your instruction manual, it will tell you how to program it. Most larger outrunners work best on higher timing. Outrunners operate by electrical pulses sent to the motor from the ESC, and they're timed depending on the number of poles the motor has. The higher the number of poles, generally the higher the timing needs to be.
Make sure you set the proper battery cell count also if it's not auto detecting.
Unfortunately, I don't have that exact controller, so I can't walk you through it step-by-step, so you'll have to use the instructions.

Got it and you were correct the motor was a 12 pole and the ESC was set to low timing advance ,with is for 2 to 4 poles. After reprogramming worked like a charm. Thank you very much.
