Default Evolution GX26 Choke Question - Help!

Hi All,

Probably a stupid question, but here goes. Just fitted an Evo 26GX which has a spring loaded throttle. Once choke is applied, as you raise the throttle, the choke is automatically released.

The obvious problem Ihave is on closed throttle, the minute Itry and apply choke, it trys to open the throttle servo, so at this point, the throttle servo gets very upset as the choke is manually trying to advance the throttle servo without any radio input.

I am operating the choke manually via a rod.

Am i missing something obvious?

All suggestions welcome!

Thanks

Paul

Paul,

It sounds to me like you are not fully engaging the choke. When it is fully engaged there is a mechanical catch that holds it there and there is no load on the throttle servo. The throttle has to be fully closed for the choke to engage, so perhaps in your throttle servo setup you actually have the throttle open too far to engage the choke Plate?

Just a couple of ideas.

Pete

Hi Pete,

Thanks for the reply. Idon't think i'm doing a very good job of explaining! Iunderstand your point on the latching of the choke. The problem Ihave is when operating the choke, this advances the throttle automatically until it reaches the latchpoint. So with the throttle connected to the servo, radio switched on, when Ioperate the choke, it forcefully tries to open the throttle servo to the latchpoint, so rightfully the Servo gets a bit upset asit tries to hold its torque and not open.

Hopefully this makes a bit more sense!

Thanks

Paul
