Gas:oil ratio...and I'm confused
I have a 43cc Fuji gas engine, it's my first gasser. I bought a bottle of Fuji oil (4.23fl.oz. (125ml)) premixed at 100:1. It says dump it into a 5 gal. tank and add 5gal. of gas. I did some math and both ways, oz.'s and ml's, and came up with 151:1.
Anyway, lets say Fuji is correct (it probably is), the first stage of breakin on my engine is 50:1 (higher oil content?), so would I dump all the 100:1 premixed into a 2.5 gal. container for 50:1?
This might just be ANOTHER senior moment.

If you have 4.23oz of oil and you want 50:1 then 4.23oz X 50 = 212oz of gas (1.65 gallons) plus the oil. The 100:1 would be calculated the same way 4.23oz X 100 = 423oz (3.30 gallons) plus the oil.
Your math was correct. Perhaps Fuji meant 3 gallon tank.

Thanks for the link, but it came up with 6.4oz oil for 50:1 in a 2.5gal of gas. The Fuji oil is synthetic so I'm wondering if that is the difference.

I have used nothing but STIHL high performance oil for years in all my gas burners . Comes in a 2.6 oz bottle that mixes with 1 gallon of gas. Never a bit of trouble . Max H.

I do the same as above, bought a bottle of oil for a mix with 5ltrs of fuel to give the required mix, then kept the bottle and then bought a 5ltr can of oil and then use the bottle as a mix measure from the bulk oil, saves a lot of time, again I only mix 5ltrs at a time so it does not go off, also use the same fuel in the mower and weed eater.

Better oils allow higher mixture ratios.
The label is not correct, your calculations are correct.
If the actual capacity of the container is 4.23 ozfl (125 ml):
The label should read "Pre-measured to mix with 3.3 (12.5 liters) gallons of gasoline".
Or it should be labeled 150:1 mixture ratio, like the 250 ml container is:
http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&P=SM&I=LXHAL0
Just follow the instructions in your engine's manual:
Break-in (Stage 1): 1 gallon of gasoline with 50:1 (2%) oil content ratio. (2.560 ozfl/gallon or 20 ml/liter)
Break-in (Stage 2): 1 gallon of gasoline with 100:1 (1%) oil content ratio. (1.280 ozfl/gallon or 10 ml/liter)
Normal running: In un-cowled or well-cooled installations 150:1 (0.65%) oil content ratio. (0.832 ozfl/gallon or 6.5 ml/liter)
In-cowled or not-so-good cooling installations 100:1 (1%) oil content ratio. (1.280 ozfl/gallon or 10 ml/liter)
