Default Eye in the Sky

Hi There!

I've just decided to buy myself a Great Planes Seawind and I'm thinking of trying something new. I've been seeing videos of wireless video cameras that can be installed on airplanes which, wearing special goggles, allows the pilot to fly the plane in First-Person view. I've found a small video camera 'here' and goggles 'there' but I haven't been able to find a kit or at least all the equipment sold in the same place so that I can be sure it all works together. Does anyone know where I can find this?

While this sounds like a lot of fun (and I would love to try it sometime), I wouldn't recommend doing it with the Seawind. The Seawind is probably the best FLYING seaplane that I have ever flown, but it is a handfull on takeoff and landing that takes every ounce of your concentration.

You're probably right. I would still like to find a kit though. Maybe I can hook it up to one of my old planes.

There is an entire forum dedicated to aerial photography and on RCU with a lot of posts on FPV (first person view) I would recommend going there and doing some research. Also check out this site it has a lot of good info to help you get started.

As far as planes go I would choose something like an electric powered trainer. Low wing loading so it has capacity to carry the extra gear. No vibration form the electric motor. Stable in flight so you can get good video that doesnt make you dizzy watching.
