Default Prop Suggestions for a brushed 370 motor

Iam looking for suggestions on prop sizes for my application.

I have a Cub with a Super 370 brushed motor and a 2.67 to 1 gearbox. I don't know the kvA rating on this motor. The battery is a 7cell AAA pack. The replacement prop suggested by my local RC store was an APC7x4. This prop spins fast but doesn't seem to have the thrust I need to get and stay airborn. The stock prop (which is broken now) for this plane is the same length and visually the pitch looks the same. However, the 7x4 APC props I bought havea taper at the ends. The stock prop did not....it was wide attheends.

Anyway, I hope this enough info tofind a cheap prop solution for my problem. I am at my wits end with it and I am considering changing over to aPower 400 brushless with a 9x7 prop. I'llattach it directly to the firewall and fly without a nose cone...I should be able to hover and/or take off vertical with this settup....and possibly tear the wings off in apowered dive...LOL. Thanks all.
