dubro insulated engine mounts
how tight are they supposed to be ? without compressing the insulators all the way. or as they say the elastometrics.

RE: dubro insulated engine mounts
Hi WhiteRook
There are many types of vibration isolators. The type I have seen here has a bonded steel sleeve on the inside diameter that determines the compressed height. You tighten it as far as you can. It is best if you have a picture or drawing to look at since there may be other components required, plus there is a geometry that you have to follow. You can Google Lord Vibration Isolators and probably find their catalog that will show how the isolators are mounted or used. I hope this helps. |

The two spools prevent the elastomeric elements to be compressed beyond the design point.
Tight the bolt as much as the blind nut can take it. |
RE: dubro insulated engine mounts
i see untill the spools hit each other , thanks

ORIGINAL: WhiteRook i see untill the spools hit each other , thanks Not exactly. Tighten until the bolt is tight enough in the nut that it won't come loose. Just as tightly as if you were bolting a standard motor mount to the firewall. |
