Thanks to all who responded to this forum question. I have made the necessary mods and have mounted Futaba 9202s in each wing. They do squeek in and I was able to get away with only cutting in from the top so there was no covering patching to do. Here are pics of the finished hatches (pre-covering) and a pic of the fuse bones. Still on a hunt for an OS 1.08 w/pitts @ a reasonable price (<$200). Got any leads??

Hi guys...interesting thread...as for fishing your servo leads thru the wing...don't waste time poking around with string and fishing sinkers, or probing with a ny-rod....simply take a length of light string, or common sewing thread, and let your vaccuum cleaner hose suck the string thru the wing panels. It'll go around corners, and zip right on thru in a second or two. Be sure to anchor the end of the string or it'll all go right on thru. I've never seen anything so slick and easy. Of course, you must have an open path for the string to follow the air current. And...for those times when that fails, (no open path), I use a 24 inch drill bit. Not pretty, but extremely effective.

I'm just starting the upper wing on mine. Hope it flies as well as the GP Ultimate that I've had for a couple years.
I made the servo hatch about the same as you guys but on the undrsideof the wing.
I'm a little concerned about how the wing bolts onto the fuse. Is there supposed to be a hardwood block in the trailing edge or does the bolt just go through the trailing edge balsa?
I asked this question on the Kit building forum as well.

I think the idea is that the fender washers will hold the soft balsa but I put in something harder there to avoid crushing.

Hi all. The Ultimate has flown this year thanks to your helpful suggestions. I have an OS 1.08 for power and it is wonderful.
