Wing Stall In A Loop
IM FLYING A C.G. EXTRA, WHEN I ENTER A LOOP ON THE UP SIDE AT ABOUT 45 DEGREE THE RIGHT WING SEEMS TO STALL AND TURN THE LOOP INTO SOME KIND OF CORKSCREW. ALSO SOMETIMES AT THE BOTTOM OF THE LOOP THE RIGHT WING STALLS AND WHEN ITS CLOSE TO THE GROUND THAT ONE GETS WORRISOME.

Wing Stall In A Loop
Your right wing may have a little warp in it causing it to stall. The other cause could be too much elevator throw making it tip stall. I have seen an Edge 540 do the same thing, but they have a healthy amount of taper toward the wingtips also. Might try a little more speed entering the loop with a lighter touch on the elevator. Could be the CG to far back making the elevator get weird under load also.

Warped wing?
Hi Ted,
I agree with all of ec121's advice. I would be most suspect of the warped wing if it is always dropping the same wing. You want the root to stall before the tip, and if you have negative washout, where the rear tip of the wing in "drooping" down a little, then the tip of this wing will stall first causing your problem. |
