muffler gasket?
I notice that OS is not including gaskets with their glow engines,,,,,Is it necessary to have one or not,,,seems ti wise to have one for leak situations an d vibrations how about a little permatex?

If the mating surfaces are clean and true you dont need a gasket.
If not they can be faced on emory paper and glass. If you're not inclined to do that a very VERY thin smear of high temp RTV, but betware, if you use too much and it squeezes into the exhaust path, it can flake off, get sucked into the chamber during the intake stroke, and will instantly snuff the glow plug. |

I always run a gasket on my gassers.....everytime I've cut a gasket for a glow engine the muffler loosens up.....stop running gaskets on a glow and have never had a problem. I haven't used any kind of sealent either....Now I have used high temp RTV on a split line of mufflers that leaked.
