GP Eagle 580 cg??
Hey guy my addition to the hangar arrived last week and she went together nicely! I am concerned on the cg however... The book states 3-3/4" from LE with an OS 46fx I couldn't get the tail off the ground during cg test( that's with battery under the firewall all the servos up front and the receiver as far forward as possible) SOOO tending to overkill things I bought ST G75:D Now here's where I am lost... the book shows installing an OS 81 FS with the rudder servo installed in the rear and balancing out that engine is 20.11oz with the muffler, the G75 is 20.63oz WITHOUT the muffler(I am using bisson pitts not sure of its weight) and I still have everything far forward in the fuse as possible and I am a smidgen tail heavy still! Any one have any ideas??

RE: GP Eagle 580 cg??
I have a huge chunk of lead my my eagle 580. I'm running a saito 56, with a little over a pound in lead to balance it and the thing flies great! Its just the type of airplane it is, long tail moment, gonna require more nose weight. If your running any of the engines you stated, the flying isn't going to be affected at all, just add as much lead as you need until it balances nicely. Jason</p> |
RE: GP Eagle 580 cg??
Thanks Jason that puts my mind at ease! How does this thing fly and land?

RE: GP Eagle 580 cg??
It flies really nice. Good vertical, does all manuevers you want, and flies smooth. Landing is just a bit faster than normal, but still managable, and actually quite easy to land though.
Have fun! Jason |
