Hex wrenches wanted
 

Ive seen a guy the other day with an older set of hex wrenches and I cant seem to find them anywhere online, they were the kind that is long with a screwdriver type handle and they had the rounded ball ends. I asked him where he got them at and he said he thought at harbour fraite, but I have looked in store and online and cant find any nowhere. Can someone help me out? thank you.

Look in the background of the photo. These are my no name long hex wrenches. The ones i have bought at harbor freight have been soft and strip or break, made in China junk. I think I bought these at Sears?? Way long ago. NAPA auto parts sells some great tools, if they aren't on the shelf then they can order them for you and have a great guarantee, life time if I recall. Don't cheaqp out on your ball wrenches, mine are used all the time. The set I got from Tower years ago is still with me and very good too.

Get these, and don't loan them out, LOL. Take what you need for your model. Ilike the Bondhus better than Dubro because the handles are bigger and fit my hands better.

Amazon carries Bondhus balldrivers at great prices. Better selection than Tower as well.

I think Bondhus are the best ,Yellow handle for SAE & Red handle for metric . Can't go wrong. Max H. :)

I don't use ball point hex drivers since they tend to strip out easily, the ball end isn't designed to take a ton of torque. Get a set of Bondhus ball point hex L-keys and use the square end to break fasteners loose and to set final torque. Ball end is for running them in/out quickly.

If you want the best in hex drivers, get some of those made by Wera

They are style "C", the handles are a large and comfortable and are worth every penny. I have had a set of metrics for about four years now. They show virtually no signs of wear and I use them at least a couple times a week.

Sorry! But all the above hex drivers from Bondus and Wera are just junk compared to
those with hardened steel from Hudy (Hungarian company)!

Just an immaterial note; just curious. I have never referred to these type of wrenches as hex wrenches. I have always called them Allen wrenches, I guess because they are used on Allen screws. I have 4 or 5 sets of these wrenches. I have never noticed the name used on the wrench sets. I will the next time I think of it.

Yea me too, but if you go to look them up online you wont find them under allen wrenches, they are labled as hex wrenches.

RTL fasteners also sell Bondhus brand ball drivers. I get a couple every time I order fasteners from them. Good stuff.
