Thrust
Could anyone tell me how to figure thrust? I have an O.S. 46fx spinning an apc 12.25x3.75 at 12,800 rpm. Is there a formula to get x#pounds of thrust?
Thanks, Rj |

I would think you would also have to factor in other variables such as:
Temperature Relative Humidity Altitude You could look at some Aerodynamics sites, but I doubt you will find the Formula you are seeking. After all, even though you supply such data as prop diameter and pitch, that doesn't take into account the airfoil that the manufacturer employs in shaping that particular propeller. What about the propeller tip design? Some would increase drag in an effort to reduce noise, while another would sacrifice this for increased thrust. I'm sure you will agree there is no need for further examples. Good Luck to you!! |

I guess that would be a lot of trouble. Does anyone run this setup and know what kind of thrust they are getting?
Thanks, RJ |

I run Omega 15%, and also have a Tower muffler on it. I have the engine on a profile hots and it truly has a rocketing unlimited performance.
