New Pitts python radio setup help needed

I have stepped up my game to my first 50cc plane.

I have a Aeroworks Pitts Python which I will be using a total
of 8 servos
4 aileron
2 elevator
1 rudder
1 Throttle

I have (for now) a DX7s Radio.

I was told I could set this plane up with this radio without
the need of a matchbox. (Not adding smoke system or Choke servo)

Can anyone help me out with the configuration?
I was thinking 1 Y connector per wing, one going to
Aileron and the other going to Aux..

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

I have this airplane. I Yed my 2 upper servos...keeping the Y in the fusleage, Yed the 2 lower servos then used seperate channels in the radio for upper and lower....Trust me when I say I found my airplane to be exteremly sensitive in ailerons....and extermely nose heavy....get with an expereinced bipe flyer to do your CG use Expo and reduce the throws on ailerons a bit....With that said I have flown mine now for over 3 years

I'm using a 9 ch. radio and had the same set up, I went with a JR match Box on the ailerons and made my life easier.

Does one Matchbox not control all 4 aileron servos?

I see on the forums that people put a matchbox on each side.<br type="_moz" />

A match box usually is used for multiple servos on a single control surface...like 2 or 3 servos on a single aileron. It allow you to set the servos so they don't fight each other at deflection. In this case I can see where the match box inside the fuse then hook each aileron servo to it would be easy

Can't you just parrallel all the aileron servos together and plug into the aileron channel? This should give you the same results as a single wing with both servos Y ed and plugged into the aileron channel. Although this setup won't allow you to program in any differential or seperate adjustment of the servos.

Hi tacx...yes you can do that...but how would you go about paralleling the servos? A bunch of Y's? I suppose you couls make an extension.... if you treat each wing seperate.....and loose a connection you still have ailerons on each wing

I went with a Power Expander Pro from Smart-Fly on my 50cc Pitts Python, the $149.00 price tag was way worth it... I was able to plug in all 4 ail. without any "Y's" as well as my Elv and didn't have to do any mixing, it made set up as easy as a 4ch trainer..Italso is set up for two batteries and regulates the power to the RX to 5 volts but allows full power to the servos and I only need the one pin style failsafe switch..http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...wink_smile.gif
