Tail wheel/elevator question/problem?
I recently got my us 40 in the air but was concernd to see on the ground it was an ultra weedwacker! I chopped the rest of the tailwheel assembly so now the tailwheel rests, but dosnt touch the fuse. My question is, although the elevator control serface dosnt touch the ground, it will concevible touch the grass and uneven ground at times. Will the comprimize my elevator servo? too much stress? Thanks folks for any light you may shed!

http://www.graphtechrc.com they have some of the best tail wheels...On 2 of my planes I let the tail drag...Now I am paying for it cuse if you get 1 good hit the back of the fuse is going to go "SPLIT" and it is not a good sound...

RE: Tail wheel/elevator question/problem?
I know a person that put no tailwheel assembly on his plane. The rudder acts as the skid. Sounds terrible, does'nt it. Guess what. He's put 32 gal. of fuel through that plane with no problems. He's going to retire the plane because it's worn out, not because of any structural problems.
