POLYSPAN SUBSTITUTE ?
I heard that polyspan was similar to dress liner fabric. Has anyone used dress liner fabic from a fabric shop as a covering material ?

RE: POLYSPAN SUBSTITUTE ?
I've purchased and used a number of fabrics from fabric shops. Shops often have a section of fabrics they call 'lining' or such. I think it was usually rayon before polyester came along.
There used to be a sil-ron sold by Sig or some other supplier back in the 60s-70s. It was significantly easier to handle, took less dope to fill, and was stronger than silk. I've never used polyspan. Where did you get it originally? |
RE: POLYSPAN SUBSTITUTE ?
I got polyspan from Fai Model Supply now in Ohio. Lightweight and strong -apply with dope. I heard SAM members are using it.
Cost is 18.00 for 12 feet x 20 inches. Thanks for your response. |

I have used dress lining from wally world with good results. Pretty cheap too if I remember right, been about ten years ago slept a time or two since, but good results anyway.:)
