OK I got pictures ;)
Most people start out buying or using the biggest most all encompassing boxes possible. I would say over time most will come full circle at least to some degree and start attempting to reduce weight as well as unneccssary 'stuff' These first pictures are my primary box and the only one that comes to the flight line I do use a slightly larger box that never comes out of the truck at my home field and only sometimes visiting other fields for events. The startline box is configured for what ever type of aircraft I may be operating on any one day. John |

RE: Flight Boxes
ORIGINAL: Warbird40 A must on any flight box: Fuel Gallon Holder, Power Panel with fuel pump/ glow igniter/starter connections, 12v batt, starter, electric fuel pump, tachometer, drawer for misc tools, glow plug igniter. In the drawer I always keep allen wrenches, a pair of long nose pliers, adjustable wrench, screw drivers, glow plugs, CA adh, zip ties, glow plug wrench, control horns, servo arms, clevises, etc. Also extra props and baby wipes (they are excellent for cleaning your nitro plane after flights). I think that covers 90% of what you need. |

Here are situations where I needed to use the larger box that normally stays in my truck since the difficulty of getting back to the truck due to the distance was difficult. In this situation I used either a small push truck to load everything or in the one photo a roll around cart that also doubled as a work/starting station (with someone holding the aircraft of course):

So, who is the "Availability of special tools contest winner!" , the ultimate friend of any other pilot on the field!!!!!! My................................ Loupe. Show me yours!! Cees, |

RE: Flight Boxes
My indoor toolbox is totally different than the regular one too. It has the Dollar Store 2.5 power eyeglasses, scotch tape, hemostats, multi charger and very small screwdrivers. A hot gluegun would be a premium item. I usually bring a helmet and safety glasses too. (maybe body armour is a good idea too?)

RE: Flight Boxes
I use the Cowboy Hardhat. Keeps the sun and rain off. It makes me look pretty too? Have added vent holes into the sides, and lowered it a bit so it doesn't feel so wobbly.
