I am having a problem with Robart rotating retracts not pulling the wheels into the wing. They have Robo Struts and 4' Robart wheels. I am using between 80 to 100psi tank pressure and they just unlock and move about an inch. I know they can bind but they feel free when operated by hand.Any ideas? I am sure that configuration should work ok.

Make sure they are mounted dead flat.

Undo the screws and see if they cycle.

On some of the retracts valves there are pressure screws, they may be set to low. They are for regulating travel speed.

I'd check the air lines to make sure there are no obstructions and the lines are routed correctly. try disconnecting one side of the air lines and operate. Then as LiveWire suggested check your air valve. it has to be positioned correctly to make sure pressure goes to either the extend or retract position. Finally check to make sure that the vent on the retract valve is open. Again as LiveWire suggested the vent port on the valve may be closed. open them up wide open and then slowly close to get the desired retract or extend speed. Remember to set this a little higher then expected. With the airplane flying the gear will be working against the air loads.

+1 on all the above. I have the 615's and if just one mounting screw is too tight it will flex the side frames and bind the gear. Loosen them all then tighten them 1 by 1 until they bind and then put a washer under the ones that cause it. I like to start with my valves closed all the way and then start opening them until I get the right speed, it prevents the gear from slapping through the top of the winghttp://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...sn/biggrin.gifI see Robart includes a warning paper telling you not to get your fingers in the way of operating gear. Thanks for your replies gentlemen. I tried backing off the screws but that did not seem to help. However,the more I cycled them the better they worked and they are probably useable now. The next problem is when they extend,one of the Robostruts turns on the shaft so the wheel no longer points straight ahead.I have a filed a flat on shaft so it may be turning in the sector gear.More investigation is required I guess.
