Remove CA Glue?
Aloha RCU Modellers,
Is it there a substance I can use to remove/dissolve CA glue? I need to do this because the model I am working on has a removable hatch for fuel tank access which is secured by magnets. One of the magnets is raised above the other three. This is creating a gap between the hatch and fuselage. I tried cutting around it with a hobby knife, and pressing it off with an allen wrench but neither method worked. Any suggestions on how this can be done? |
CA Debonder sold at your hobby store.

Acetone
It can also be used to wipe CA spills off Monokote. It also is used to thin epoxy glue. It's better than using rubbing alcohol as the alcohol has water in it which weakens the glue. If you want the thinned glue to have strength, the acetone doesn't degrade the strength. Since it's pretty cheap and alcohol won't wipe CA spills............. |
Acetone is a good debonder for CA and I use my heat shrink gun to remove parts that were glued in with epoxy.

Hi!
Acetone and Debonder is nowhere as good as pure nitromethan! And nitro does not effect any of the plastic film coverings. |
