Checking rubber

I bought a set of the Top Flight spoked 4" spoked wheels for my Elder . I love the wheels but the rubber is starting to check quite baddly . I am wondering if anybody knows how to prevent this from happening ? Armorall maybe ? I don't usually like to have that stuff in my shop because I paint in there and Armorall and painting don't get along well .

I use "tire black" on my vehicles and models.

Armorall may harm some materials. I prefer the product marketed for tires

I'm not sure what you are asking, but I'm going to answer based solely on the comment about Armorall.

I have attended numerous Car and Motorcycles Shows with my motorcycle and my wife's. As already mentioned, Armorall does damage tires not to mention that it makes them quite slippery. We ride our motorcycles hard between shows, so that would be very bad. I've seem people destroy a show bike because of it. I use shoe polish of the liquid form. It can be spread all around the tire including the contact surface without the threat of loosing traction.

Hope this helps.

Never use Armorall on a motorcycle seat!!!!!!!!!! That's the voice of experience!!! Odd things happen when you use the breaks, especially if your wife is on the back!!;)
I haven't ever had a set of tires long enough for Armorall to allow tire checking but I have seen a lot of users wonder why there dash boards cracked. It only makes things shiny and slippery, it isn't a UV protector. I use the STP protector with the UV guard and haven't had any problems but I really like the idea of the shoe polish. Don't know if it has any UV protection or not.
