Engine oil 2 stroke

I usually fly with Zenoah engines,I would use a good quality 2 stroke oil,Quaker state,Penzoil,Echo, ect.I get confused when I want to use a higher quality oil, like Amsoil,or redline. There's racing 2stroke,all sport ect.I purchased a Mintor 60cc NIB,and I would thought it would be better to run a higher grade of 2 stroke oil.
Should I stick with what I have been using(36 to 1 gas/ oil ratio)or change to something else.jeffo

Using 36:1 is probably more oil than a 60cc needs but unless it's starts fouling out the plug it's just going to make a little more mess on the bottom of the plane. My gassers range from 20cc to 60cc and I don't want a different fuel can for each one. So I run 32:1, about the same mix you do. The whole "what oil is best" topic has been beat to death in these forums. I prefer to use Stihl Ultra in the gray bottle for two reasons. 1) it is easy to find. 2) It's what DA recommends. I also do my best to find 100% gas and not E10.

What David said except personally I've had good luck burning E10 in all my 2C engines. HOWEVER none of them are aircraft engines. Just chain saws, trimmers etc. My saws can set for 6 to 8 months between use and the seem to run just fine. YMMV. OH, As a former Stihl tech, yes I'm biased:), I feel the Stihl Ultra oil is in the top three. IMO it is #1 but arguing the difference at this level is a waste of time. I like it is readily available. I also run all my engines at a 40:1 ratio and do not have carbon issues.

Stihl or Husky Synthetic @ 32 to 1 with non Ethanol 90 plus and there you have the best all-around mix for all 2 stroke gassers, really a little rich for many who call for 50 to 1 (saws and such) but you won't hurt an engine by being a little rich. I put a lot of 50 to 1 thru a G-38 with no problems.

I run my 100 and my 170 on ethonol free with redline at 40:1. I use that mix for break in as well, takes a bit longer but doesn't hurt anything
