Setting up dual batteries for Rx and Ignition
I'm setting up a 50cc IMAC type plane and am using a pair of 2600 LiFe batteries for power. My question is can I run both batteries to the receiver and also my optical kill switch for the ignition without problems? I know the traditional answer was to use a BEC for the ignition to isolate it from the radio circuit, but with the optical switch is that still necessary?

I would use an IBEC, an RCXL optical kill can also be wired to do what you want and power the ign through the rx bus.
|
What would the IBEC do for me that the optical kill switch won't? As I understand it, I'll have isolation for the circuits either way. So what is the reason for using an IBEC?
|
because the IBEC is designed to power and isolate your ignition as well as providing an optical tx activated kill.
While there's those that use the RCXL that way with a wiring mod, thats not how it is designed, its designed to provide power from a separate battery. |
I did some searching and came up empty. What's the mod for the RCEXL kill switch?
