How to hinge thin wood?

Building a Mini Kaos to pair with my Kaos 90. The stab, elevator and rudder are 3/32" thick. Any ideas on how to hinge them??? That's very thin to work with. I've thought about using thread in a figure eight pattern. I'm used to building bigger stuff.

Sand a bevel on the bottom of the leading edge of the control surface (one side of the rudder). Use some Monokote squares as hinges and glue them to the non-beveled edges. This, of course, assumes they are currently unfinished flat slabs.

Thanks, gives me some ideas. Now I remember about the monokote. flip one over and seal a bit of overlap together, now you have sticky on both sides to stick to the wood.
Thanks again

Hey, Flyboy, we lived in Omaha for a few years and in the Omahawks club.

Monokote hinges are one solution but I prefer 3M hinge tape. Basically a roll of good ol' Scotch tape but designed to flex a lot. You can find it on Amazon in widths as small as 1/2 inch.

One way to get the most use out of those increasingly rare solartex scraps is to make fabric hinges. Take two strips of solartex and run them through a sewing machine with the adhesive sides together. You may want to separate the pieces with some plain paper so they don't stick to each other. A straight stitch is helpful. Iron on the hinge with the stitch between two beveled surfaces and then cover as usual. This provides a nice gapless hinge. Once upon a time this was a commercially available product.

IMHO, doing the top and bottom tape hinge thing is just overcomplicating things on a small plane like this. The first suggestion is simple and will work well. Bevel the top and put tape across the bottom. If you are worried about it coming loose, put a strip across the top too.
