Fun with extra channels
 

OK, I have a Eclipse 7 and the lack of using the extra channels are killing me...

I have channel 5,6,7 all unused. I don't have Retractable gear or flaps, and i dont wanna install them at this time. Any ideas on what I can do on the extra channels?

Hmmm,
smoke system, bomb drop, onboard camera would be 3 fun ideas.

How about a release for dropping stuff like nerf "bombs" or parachutes? You can also get servo operated brakes. If you have friends with gliders, you could make a tow hook release and try some towing. If you're looking for interesting gagets, you could add a gyro, remote igniter, or even an autopilot.

As a spinoff of the bombdrop, make a glider release.

Don't get a gyro, learn to fly REALLY good and then play with them if you want. They'll really hinder your advancement in my opinion.

Remote glow drivers are great.

Running lights, landing lights. If it's a warbird, RAM makes a nifty machine gun SFX module. ALl sorts of ideas. Use your imagination.

Use that miximg capability, too. On my 9C, I had a switch set up as an airbrake for my Laser 3D. When I hit the ground, I flip switch E and I get about 50° of spoilerons and 50° up elevator.
I also set up a touch of spoileron on my spring loaded switch (IE Trainer or Snaproll switch) to help in elevators.

Most of all, HAVE FUN. That's what this hobby's about, right?

You could put the right and left aileron on channels 1 and 6, respectively. That way you can use the flaperon function and put in some differential if you wanted. At least you would be using one more channel.
