Portable building board recommendations?
 

The 3rd and 4th week in January I'll be away from home on business and living out of a motel room. As I'd really wanted to get some building done, this could be a perfect opportunity. I want to build a SIG Somethin Extra. Anyone have any suggestions on portable boards?

At a lumber yard near the motel look for some particle-board shelf material and a dropped ceiling panel. Hopefully they'll have the shelf about 16 in. wide.
Have them cut you a 4 ft. length of the shelf and cut the panel to fit it. Glue them together with the untextured side of the panel facing up. There you have it. Or see if they have a damaged sheet of 3/4 in. mdf they'd cut up if you need a wider board.
