If you haven't dismissed the use of CF, it can be a better choice than the rod.
Composite Structures Technology has various size rods and sheaths.

Thanks for the link TP I'LL keep it in my favorites But CF is a bit over kill for my spads. Im looking for a sourse for about 200' of the plastic guide tube.

Juat run the pushrd inside a flute channel of the model. 4mm's flutes are just about right for 2-56 guide tubes. (strip off a square tube from a sheet of coro if you need to run a tube at an angle... CA it to the side of the fuselage inside... done.)

1/8" inch antenna tube works too! can be had in 50 count packages. ether 36" or 48" lengths.

Hobby Lobby also has 25 or 50 foot rolls of nylon tubing, one fits inside the other. I use this for guide lines on most of my pull-pull setups. It comes in rolls and you do need to stretch it out and heat it to get the kink out of it. I just slip it over some piano wire and heat it with the heat gun, it then remains straight.
