RCV 58 CD engines...
[sm=drowning.gif]
I'm considering a pair of RCV 58 four strokes for a new plane if I can find out what their two stroke equivalent is and their reliablility factor. Anyone out there using these engines yet? Please help. Thanks... |
RE: RCV 58 CD engines...
My .02 cents about thr RCV .58CD
I had one in a Cessna 182 and it sounded and ran beautifully with a 12x7 prop. Never quit. I did have and on-board glow driver but it would idle at 2200 all day then transition right now. Break it in slow and rich for 2-3 tanks of fuel and fly it. PITA factor- Most readily availible engine mounts won't work without modification as the crankcase has some bulges and bumps not present on common 2strokes. I ended up making some out of Al. The mount ears could be wider |

Thanks for the info.
What engines would you say the 58 CD is equal too? |
