9C dual elevator servo programming???
I can't figure out how to program my 9C to have a second elevator servo slaved to the normal servo. Can anyone give some pointers on how to set this up?

RE: 9C dual elevator servo programming???
Go to the ailevator function in the advanced menu and enable it.
THis will slave 2 and 8 together. Make changes to the mixes to fit your needs |
RE: 9C dual elevator servo programming???
Just an added note, be sure to set the two aileron travel settings to zero in the ailevator function window if you want the elevators to work only as elevators. Otherwise the elevators will function as ailerons when the aileron stick is moved.

I got it working great, thanks for the help.
Just a quick question, why would you setup your elevators to funtion as ailerons when the aileron stick is moved? Is that like a super snap roll? |
RE: 9C dual elevator servo programming???
There would be many uses for the elevator acting like ailerons, the one that I know if is to give or control surface area for roll control.

I think that function's mostly for the jet guys...

Read the descriptions again. On a flying wing (delta wing) there isn't a tail, right? Therefore you need elevons to fly the plane. Elevons allow the ailerons to function as elevators when the elevator stick is moved. When Ailevators are set up on a plane with a tail and dual elevator servos, the elevators will function as ailerons in addition to the wing ailerons when the aileron stick is moved. Big difference. Ailevators are used mostly on jets with a tail for better roll control.

If you want to call the control surfaces on a deltas ailevators and tail control surfaces elevons, it's OK by me! |
RE: 9C dual elevator servo programming???
Technically speaking, a plane has to have ailerons and elevators to be set up with the Ailevator option. Elevons are typically what is used when the plane (whatever configuration that might be) has either ailerons or elevators (which ever you chose to call them) but not both. In correspondence to the original post of this thread the correct term would be Ailevators.
