tower hobbies tuned muffler?

I have bought a new tower hobbies 46 abc and they list this motor as 1.75 bhp. ??? Is this motor putting this much out for real? Also is this with the stock tuned? muffler. I would like to put a pitts style on, but would hate to lose any power, especially on a Decathalon. What do you think.

That Tower muffler is being used on countless OS .46 FX engines. You won't believe the difference it makes to that engine.
I suspect you will experience a not insignificant power loss.

I did a test on several .46 size engines and at the end, installed a Tower muffler on 3: OS .46AX, Magnum .52XLS & GMS .47. The prop used was a fun fly 12.25-3.75 and the nominal gain was 700-800 rpm compared to their stock mufflers. Other people have reported a greater gain on sport size props.

The listed HP rating on glow engines is for the most part useless information. The HP is listed at an RPM that's too high for any sensible application.
