Staying into it...
 

Ok well in Reno when its winter the weather turns to hell and i'm getting scared that i'll get out of R/c flying because of the weather. The catch, the last thing i want to do is get out all this fun and excitement. I have G2 Lite and for x-mas i want the conversion from G2 lite to G2. So well i started planning my winter project and well the more i look at my plans the more it looks like my last hobby. It looks exactly like my last hobby because for x-mas i got all this cool stuff and well stuff keep breaking and i kept replacing and then i turned into something that just wasn't fun anymore. So basically i'm lookin for ideas to stay into all this. I've come up with 2 ideas. #1- just sit here and say i'm stickin with it no matter what.2#- Do everything i can so that it doesn't look like my last hobby. Plus i haven't been flying in 2 months due to weather so that just makes me more scared that i won't get a break til like january.

Half the US goes into "winter mode" at least once a year so don't fret. While many call it "winter", most of us properly call it the "building season", and if you're into ARF's like so many are nowadays, this might be a good opportunity to try building a real kit or even from plans. Take a look at Ziroli's plans, and Hostetler's plans, etc.

Of course if you get some serious snow, it might be time to try flying off of skis.

Keep in mind that there's a LOT more to the hobby than just flying, so the starting point is your imagination.

Up here we either fly in the snow, or about ten of us rent a sports dome for a couple of hrs. and fly electrics.

If a few months of winter would cause you to get out of the hobby, you weren't serious about it from the get go...

You are lucky that it is just the weather! I have G-2, build and set here at the PC. Thanks to some people in local club don't dare fly, 60 years modeling down the drain!

Move to Vegas... "WHAT HAPPENS IN VEGAS, STAYS IN VEGAS". Don't tell anyone but we have some pretty good winter flying weather....

Thank you everyone and there all right if i'm thinking of getting of getting out of it then i was into it but really this is my thing i love it so much. Man i kinda of wish i could move but i'm only 14 so you know. Yeah i just need to find the right weekend and go and fly my ass off. Thank you everyone and i will continue to post no matter what so yeah i;m staying.

That's a shame Outlaw. Heck, come on down here and fly with us. We'll even give ya a key so you don't have to buy a pair of bolt cutters.;)

Most Outlaws are trying to break out not in. I fought the law and the law won. It would be great if people could get away to a different area for a while , but $$. Be nice to just fly out what I have 12 planes left. I don't have to buy much any more, just fuel and have 4 gls. left.[&o]
