Shipping Planes Issue
Thanks for all your advice it looks like I'm ending
up with a crate and about 250.00 and thats the cheapest I have found , but at least the buyer can sleep at night knowing his plane will arrive safe and undamaged. Thanks to all that have commented. |
Shipping Planes Issue
I just recently shipped a 60" wing in box I built from foam (owens corning pink stuff), doubled everything, made foam formers in the box, etc. Fed Ex charged me apprx $15 for ground shipping. This box weighed apprx 8 lbs. I also built and shipped the fuse in a triangular box (same idea), that was apprx 50"L X 24"H.

I often wondered that, but this is exactly what I saw at the Worlds this summer. Seems like everyone made crates from double walled foam. If it can survive from Australia to Canada....
