Shipping Planes Issue

Does anybody have any idea or expeirence in the
shipment of planes with 67"-80" wingspans. I called
MailBoxes etc and they wouldnt ship , I hate to pay
hundreds of dollars for a freight company to build a
crate , how do you people sell planes and get them
shipped.

Thanks for all your advice it looks like I'm ending
up with a crate and about 250.00 and thats the
cheapest I have found , but at least the buyer
can sleep at night knowing his plane will arrive
safe and undamaged. Thanks to all that have
commented.

I just recently shipped a 60" wing in box I built from foam (owens corning pink stuff), doubled everything, made foam formers in the box, etc. Fed Ex charged me apprx $15 for ground shipping. This box weighed apprx 8 lbs. I also built and shipped the fuse in a triangular box (same idea), that was apprx 50"L X 24"H.

I often wondered that, but this is exactly what I saw at the Worlds this summer. Seems like everyone made crates from double walled foam. If it can survive from Australia to Canada....
