Glueing Ply to fiberglass
 

I'm going to glue some plywood spars inside a fiberglass cowl to stiffen it up and create cooling baffles. Which glue would be better to use CA or Epoxy?

www.dreamworksrc.com If you are only doing a small amount of this, aeropoxy is not the econimical solution. We just aeropoxy (hysol 9462) a lot with the jets and it's the best solution, but not at all cheap. For what you're doing 5 minute will probably be the most exonomical choice. I would not use CA for that.

Contact Todd at dreamworksrc.com if you want to have aeropoxy on hand. It's really a great epoxy (but not cheap).

Another option is Goop. Sticks to glass and plywood very well

Just make sure you sand it good with 80 grit no matter what you use for glue . I would use aeropoxy ,hysol, or epoxy .Randy

Use silicone glue that you can get at any hardware store, Wal-Mart, etc. Or use Zap-A-Dap-A-Goo.

Hi!
I can assure you that Ca glue(Flash) will work just fine if you roughen up the surface first.
Have done this in Pylonracing on many models for years....
