Sig Something Extra HELP
I picked up a sig something extra at a swap shop a few years ago and I am now trying to set it up to fly again. Does anyone have the control throws and balance point for this plane?

Does anyone have the control throws and balance point for this plane? reddog076, I believe you can get the throws and cg point, plus a lot of other hints and tips in these threads -- in the RC Kits fourm -- http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_32...2Cextra/tm.htm in the beginners forum -- http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_3274319/tm.htm If not, I'll dig out my manual and look them up for you. |

RE: Sig Something Extra HELP
If you use the specified control throws from the manual, it would be a good idea to cut the high and low rates in half for your first flight. Their initial settings are usually a little too much unless you're used to a plane like the SE.
The CG can be moved pretty far in either direction without much issue. The wing spar (that tube) is a good starting point. For the first flight get it within 1/4 of an inch of that spot. All of my Somethin' Extra's were tail heavy with .46's, so you may need to move some stuff towards the front for the initial flights. You will love that plane! It's one of my all-time favorites. |
