Receiver antenna length
Yesterday, I configured my 4*40 so that it could be hauled away by the big white truck which comes on Tuesdays. During the process, the receiver antenna wire snapped about 1/2" out from the case. It would be easy to solder it together, but in order to do that the wire will turn out about 1/4 to 1/2" shorter, overall. My question is: How critical is the length of the antenna wire? Will 1/2" shorter make any difference? I'm on channel 29. Thanks.....Glen

RE: Receiver antenna length
I have a JR R700 Reciever in my LT40 that had the antenna broken about three inches from the Rx. I carefully soldered it back together and put heat shrink over it. After the repair, it ended up being right at 1/2" shorter than before. I've flown it many times, and havent had any problems with it, so I would say you are probably alright.

RE: Receiver antenna length
Thanks for your reply. I figured it wouldn't matter that much, but wanted to be sure. The receiver seems to be OK, as it was well protected with foam; no cracks in the case, and all the plug in sockets are fine. I'll solder the wire and do a range test. Thanks again. Glen

RE: Receiver antenna length
Any length from 39 to 41 inches will work well.
