how to pull thrust washers?
I was wondering if anyone had any good ideas (or tips) for pulling engine thrust washers (specifically on the Saito 325 radial)?
I know that two methods exist already - using a pronged thrust washer puller - or an arbor press... |
RE: how to pull thrust washers?
A thrust washer puller only puts force on the drive washer and the shaft that the collet is locking together. A press would put the load on the bearings, which you don't want to do.

There is a thread with excellent pictures on this topic in the Glow Engines forum. Cheers, Colin |
RE: how to pull thrust washers?
Thanks for the answers! I ended up using a Posilock gear puller.

You need to purchase a bearing seperator and a gear puller at a better auto parts store.
