Mike, your best bet is to try to locate a set of plans and build the wing. May be almost as hard as finding a wing. But at least it gives you 2 shots at it! I have a Sterling Gullwing Stinson kit that I have hoarded for about 30 years, and am just now getting in a position to build it!! Lee Robinson W. Palm Beach, Florida

You can replace the original wood wing with a foam wing.

Or you can build a new wood wing from lazer cut parts. This guy may be able to set you up.

I was informed a good year ago or so that someone is reproducing the large radio version of the Sterling kit. There had been a couple versions offered by Sterling in different sizes.

Go to:

http://home.mindspring.com/~jeff.coo...els/index.html

And contact Jeff for information as to just who is doing this.

for it is not I, as the note above indicates.

I'd sure like to see a kit of this plane done again with the advantages of modern laser cutting, accessory molding, and decent light wood. I've got an original kit NIB that I've been holding on to for years, not wanting to build it because the wood is so heavy. I've had to settle for the GP Stearman as the closest modern equivalent version.

If anyone finds out if a re-kit is in the offing, be sure to post here.

Mine's not for sale. It has increased in value (what I have seen them sell for) three times since I bought it. I figure it will double again in value in about another ten years--then I'll sell it. :D
