os91fs and palmer plans

Has anyone out there had anyproblems with there 91 breaking the value springs. I have two now in last couple years. I 'm wondering if they aren't getting brittle now. Going put new in both engines for security any way. Also has anyone worked with palmer plan guy. I e-mail him but do not get straight answer from him. Trying to find if buying his c-119 plans can get the wood cut some place who has cad for these plans.

Thanks

I've been around a lot of OS 91 Four strokes. No one has talked about breaking valve springs. I've had one about four years.

You may be running them too fast? What prop are you using? should be 13-8 or 14-6?

Enjoy,

Jim

Checkout rcscalebuilder.com. There is a forum for Palmer Plans, and a build thread specific to the C-119.

Thanks for the info. I kind had that same feeling. but am running a graup 12-8 3 blade. I'm up around 6,000 ft cold day and other day the motor tacked 9280. I thought this would be good and unload in flight to about 10,000 At sea level I would probably need the prop you mentioned. Got any good tips will put them to use.

Thanks

There's nothing wrong with 9280 on the ground.

What about valve adjustment. If there's too much clearance, it will slam things around and cause unnecessary wear.

Valves should be .002" to .004"

Enjoy,

Jim
