U-can-Do .46 Ailevator

I just purchased a U-can-do 46. It has two servos that control two independant elevators. When programing my radio, do I use the ailevator funtion so that when the ailerons move up and down the elevators also move up and down? OR do I buy a servo reversing harness? Also do I fly the plane with the Ailevator function on all the time? I hope this makes sense, I have never flown a plane with two independant elevators. HELP!
Thanks! Rolliedog

The elevator halves are typically connected by either a regular Y connector or a servo reversing Y.

Since I am cheap :D , I use a regular Y. Just physically reverse one of the servos - have the output shaft of one closer to the rear of the plane and the other closer to the front of the plane. Another option is to use one Futaba and one HiTec servo (they rotate in opposite directions).

FWIW - I never heard of an "ailevator" function. Are you sure you don't mean ELEVON ? Elevon is when you have something like a delta or a flying wing (Zagi) and the elevator has to also work as ailerons.

Plug one servo in the elevator port on the reciever and the other into an auxillary port. Mix them so they work together and adjust the rates until they move equal distance.

It would help to know what radio you have. With some radios its easy to set this up and with others it would be better to have a reversing y.

I have mine set up the way WCB suggested. Works great. Considered setting up ailevator too for a possible faster roll rate....not needed!

Thanks for all the help guys.
I think I understand now. You probably saved me from a disaster.
