Storing planes

I used to store my planes horizontally when I had the space. With my new house (and limited space), I'm thinking of hanging them by the empannages along the wall, but I have heard this is bad on the engines since the after-run oil will leak out and the rear bearings will dry out resulting in rust and that you should only hang them vertically if the engine has been removed. Hanging them from the ceiling is not an option. Any thoughts?

I built this from pipe stolen at work;) even purchased it isn't every much. it's all 3/4 PVC. just use drywall anchors. I used 6 heavy duty self drilling plastic anchors. stay away from studs with these

RE: Storing planes

Some people don't even use afterrun oil, and have no problems at all. i use it some, and soemtimes not. I wouldn't listen to that load. Hanging planes by the tail should do no harm. I hope it doens't, as I have an ultimate hung up by the tail in my trailer, and it stays that way!
