Too much compression?

Hello,
I have a 2 stroke 61 engine very hard to turn due to the high compression, I have never had an engine like this before.
My starter won't turn it thru the compression, It does turn all my others including a 25 CC gas engine,

Any Ideas.
Also I don't know what brand it is, It has GF on the side.

Thanks for looking
George

RE: Too much compression?

It will not be too much compression but more the cylinder nip that occures on ABC/ABN engines. This means that the engine will be on the tight side untill run in and looked after will last a very long time. I had an OS 46FX the same and lasted 15 years before brain fade took over and put it in the dirt.

Cheers.

RE: Too much compression?

You can probably loosen the glow plug to start it the first few times, after that it may loosen up a bit.
