showtime
I'm building my showtime and noticed one of the wings does'nt sit flush against the fuse. One guide pin does'nt go in all the way. I can hold it in by putting preasure against it but it wont stay. Has anyone else delt with this? If so let me know what you did to fix it please. Also an elevator and stab half meets flush against the fuse so the elevator half rubs the fuse. I'm not happy so far with this ARF but I'm willing to work with it if I can get some ideas. Thanks for your input.

RE: showtime
i am building the showtime as well and saw the same thing with the wing I thought maby putting some clear tape over the gaps but not sure if that is the best solution not sure if that small of a gap is going to affect the performance of the plane, i also have a question about the motor install I have mounted the evo 1.0 and was wondering if i could use the stock muffler or if I should get a pitts style instead.

RE: showtime
I figured out my elevator problem and of course it was something stupid on my end so thats solved. Horizon sent me a new wing after calling them but sent the wrong side. Would'nt you know it. I talked to a pro builder and he said dont worry about the small gap that it will be fine. It's not like we are flying pro competition and we wont notice anything from it anyway chances are. I am beefing up the landing gear area inside the fuse. I wish I had an answer for you about your muffler but I dont. All I can say is I like the pitts style but I'm going to use the stock muffler on my Saito 125. Any build tips anyone would like to add please do. Thanks to all and happy flying!

RE: showtime
You guys need to check the big ShowTime thread in the 3D Flying. There are several things noted there to watch out for.
The biggee is possible incidence problems on the wings and/or stabs. The ONLY way to properly check this is with an incidence meter. Many of us "eyeballed" the finished model and it looked fine; until the first flight. Yes, I realize that thread is 60 pages long and will take quite a bit of time to plow through. How much is your time, relative to your new plane, worth???;) <<Edited to reflect the proper forum reference>> |
