Hovering

I was wondering if there is some kind of training gear like the ones on helicopters or any instruction booklets on learning to hover. I can hold them motionless into a 10 to 15 mph wind but with no wind I'm shot, also do certain planes easier to learn on than a funfly or a tower uproar? Any advice?

For God giveth and the ground taketh away!!!

With the gyro, would I be able to eventually wein off of it or are you stuck to using it all the time.?

You can use a gyro if you like but from what I have gathered from the 3-D crowd around here, you should experiment first.

What kind of plane is it?
Do you have dual rates?
What is the problem when you hover? Does it want to drop a wing, stall, not enough power, etc.
Where is your Center Of Gravity set? Is it nose/tail heavy?

Actually, if you want to learn to hover and have specific wuestions, you may want to just ask this in the 3D forum. Those guys hover all the time.....

I'm new here too my friend. Nothing to worry about. As a matter of fact there is an active "hovering" thread there right now.

Let me know if you find the correct forum....
