Fueling Question
 

Ok back in the hobby after about 8 years...I bought a O.S. 25fx, it has the remote needle valve...well...when I fill it I can't access the fuel line that is behind the needle valve(just too tight an area) if I try and fuel it near the carb it has to go back through the needle valve and I am not sure if that would cause any internal damage, plus it takes way too long. What's the best way to fuel these things...maybe go through the vent line instead?

Bill, You could use a fuel fitting like this.....[link=http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LX0563&P=7]fitting[/link] and put it inbetween the valve and where it fits on the tank. I see that Tower doesn't have it in stock right now but you can get them or something like them at you LHS.

Put a third line (fill line) on the tank and cap it off with a plug.

Cut the line in two. Splice with 1/2" long brass or some form of tubing. Separate there and fuel. Might however add a spot for possible air leaks. And maybe more problems oblivious to me...lol Just a thought.

The easiest thing to do is to cut the fuel line as stated. Usually works best if the brass tube is bent into an L shape. This arrangement has never caused me any problems in operating the engine. The photo shows an OS CVA.15 engine installation.

Thanks for the simple comment about making the tubing an "L"! That will make the similar setups that I have - with straight pieces of tubing - a lot easier to get the correct side on and off.

You could put a line-filter in the gap too.

the quick fuel valve is the best.....i use one on my p-40 it works pretty good
